本文探討的是作者書寫「看見自我」的視覺經驗及其反思。
在唐代詩人中,題詠自己的肖像畫、書寫攬鏡自照心情者,以白居易(772-846)的作品最多,至少有十五首。本文即以白居易觀看自己的肖像畫以及照鏡題材的詩作為例,分析詩人從凝視自我的視覺體驗中感知的自我意識。
詩人透過畫像再現或鏡面反射,得知三重層次的「自我形象」──真實自我的幻影、他人眼中的「我」,以及理想之「我」的期許。
