The author had visited the house of “Jiang Xia Tang” where Xu Beihong had drawn the painting “Put down Your Whip” in an attempt to have a better understanding of the style of this painting, and at the same time analyze the main character of the painting, known as Wang Ying (1913-1974) for her background and literary creation . During the visit, the author realized that this painting was Wang Ying’s portrait.

The oil painting “Put down Your Whip” drawn by Situ Qiao(1902-1958), was the real historical record of anti-Japanese war in Singapore.
